I have gone back and looked at the data available from the Canadian Venture Capital Association and Macdonald & Associates to get a sense of the big picture for VC financings here in Canada. (Any errors are mine and not the fault of CVCA or M&A.)
Here is the big picture from 1995-2003:
It looks pretty depressing, except that when you look closely into the past 4-8 quarters, you see where it bottomed out and it appears to be on the rise again:
We should be getting the Q2/2004 numbers soon. When we do, I’ll update these.
