What happens if you put corn-based bio-diesel into your sweet-potato-based Toyota?

I thought that corn being turned into bio-diesel was cool but Toyota is experimenting with using sweet-potato-derived materials for some parts of new cars. The biomaterial is strong, light, and totally biodegradable.

Maybe when we’re done with our cars, we’ll be able to break them into parts and toss them into the farmer’s fields…

why are you so horney for biodiesel? typically it take ten calories of energy to create one calorie of food. the idea of pitting poor starving people vs. rich people’s cars for the use of crop lands scares the shit out of me. from when i use to promote biodiesel, the best numbers we had were that used and waste oil could cover 5% of the market. what happens after that?
