You guys are lucky, you can at least get through to plaxo and quit voluntarily when you have to. I used plaxo free for a while, then they gave me this ultimatum to PAY... or else, so I paid. Its been about a month since then, and the strange part is that now I can longer sync, or even access www.plaxo.com. I get the server has rest the connection, or this page cannot be reached erros. From all my computers, from all my various ISPs. I really don't know why this should be so. So now I don't have Plaxo even though I have Plaxo.

Agree with your comments about Plaxo. Signed up years ago to synchronize outlook contacts on multiple machines with Plaxo's address book. Now that so many of my contacts also need to be in Google contacts, I'd very much like two-way sync, but although this feature has been promised repeatedly, it doesn't seem to be a priority for the company, which seems more interested in being something like facebook.

I just dropped the automatic renewal for the premium service but am still hoping that they get their act together before it expires.

The price went UP?!?!?!?!!? Yikes. Yeah, I'm with you. Plaxo team, get your head out of your ass. There's not enough value here to justify a price increase.

I agree and have had similar experience with Plaxo.

FYI Plaxo Premium is now $99. I will definitely be dropping before the 30 day trial is up.

Not really. I tried Spanning sync and found it pretty buggy and it didn't solve my key pain which was trying to keep Mac OS X and Google Contacts (personal) and Google Contacts (client 1) and Linked In and Facebook in sync. I do however use both Adium and Meebo to connect my AIM/MSN/Gtalk worlds and that works well but is a different issue - that's cross network communication where the first problem I was trying to solve was cross address book consolidation and de-duping.
