I am a socially and environmentally business builder, advisor, athlete, and adventurer. My purpose in life is to use the power of business and technology to create new ventures that contribute to the development of a more sustainable, more open, and healthier life, community, society, and world.
I'm currently President and VP Sales and Marketing for WorkHabit, a Sacramento based company that invests in and builds Web 2.0 Social networking startups and Enterprise 2.0 platforms in the media, healthcare, and green technology sectors. For startups we partner with out clients to envision the product, fund the company, design the product, recruit staff, develop the project, deploy the project for scalability, and teach our clients how to maintain them cost effectively. For enterprises, we build engaging online communities of partners, customers, suppliers, and employees that are integrated fully into the Enterprise software ecosystem.Previously I was the Director of Strategy for Hinchcliffe and Company, a leading Web 2.0 and Enterprise 2.0 consulting, training, advisory, and media company. In this role, I work with our team of associates to provide Enterprise 2.0 consulting to the Fortune 1000, delivering training and providing advisory services to startups.
Before joining Hinchcliffe and Company, I was the Emerging Technology Strategist for Business Objects, where I was tasked with identifying new growth opportunities, markets,
offerings, and business models that arose from emerging
technologies. This included having the opportunity to support the launch of our Software as a Service unit, and also working on our online community, social software initiatives (blogs and wikis), and product-centric Web 2.0 and Enterprise 2.0 strategy.
I am or have been a volunteer with the Business Objects foundation, and 30 days of sustainability, Vancouver Enterprise Forum, Angel Forum, and the Canadian Financing Forum and I am fortunate to be a mentor through the Rocketbuilders Market Readiness Program and the New Ventures BC program where I get to be continuously impressed, humbled, and encouraged by local entrepreneurial drive.
From 1994-2004, I owned a computer consulting company that specialized in computer support for businesses and non-profit organizations and then attended and graduated from the Leadership Vancouver class of 2004, a program I have recommended to many others for its breadth and for the opportunity to meet and work with some of Vancouver's most dynamic leaders in the private, public, and non-profit sectors.
In order to maintain my energy for all of those activities, I spend as much time as I can staying fit with CrossFit, biking, running, snowshoe-running, yoga, blading, and anything else I can find that is intense and provides lots of variety and cardio.
I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada because it's the best city in the world to live, work, and play!
