Two fantastic articles on homelessness in SF, which has even more homelessness than in Vancouver

Here is a cool article from the S.F. Gate website on a program called Direct Access which provides housing in combination with 24×7 medical and counselling staff in order to house “the unhouseable” in San Francisco. It’s working, and it’s cost-effective. Locally of course, we have the Portland Hotel Society who have been serving that need here very well for 13 years as well. But with San Francisco having a larger total population of homelessness, they are experiencing all of our issues on a larger scale. Speaking of which, SF Gate did a 5 day series which was amazing and which can be found here.
